Village Country Fair
November 12, 2005
Another awesome fair, this is one event that keeps growing and growing and our reputation around the community seems to be that we do things well and with great style.
We received so many compliments from our patrons that day, we hope our efforts showed what the members of Guildwood Community Presbyterian Church are all about. It took 71 wonderful volunteers to put this together and to all those hard workers we are truly grateful.
We hope you noticed the "Flavor of Faith" in our Country Fair this year. All of the volunteers had faith in their staff, their shoppes, their products and their customer satisfaction.
Also, you could find indications or symbols of faith physically shown throughout the fair.
- In our lobby with Daisy Mae's Plants a special table devoted to symbols of Advent,
- the story of the Poinsettia and little cross tags inside the plants.
- Can you remember where you found; the red & white "J" shaped candy canes with the story to go with them;
- hand woven crosses for bookmarks;
- an angel display and beautiful Christmas ornaments;
- a beautifully framed picture "All Creatures…" and pastry crosses on top of pies;
- a mannequin reading a bible all day long;
- a warm and welcoming verse on a quilt in the entrance as well as a heartfelt verse on the table centrepiece;
- the Bible stand with a story book of Jesus;
- and suspended Gingerbread people with proverbs written on their aprons,
- and bible verses on some packages.
What a feel the Faith our volunteering church members displayed in the open for all to see and feel. Congratulations for sharing our faith.
We are already planning for next fall and hope that many of you who did not have a chance to participate last year have realized what a great day you missed and will join us this year.
We have added a new shoppe which will be of great interest to the men of our congregation called "Grandpa's Shed". It will be a place for you to bring all those tools that you have stored in you own shed that are still in their original boxes or weren't quite right for the job.
We hope this becomes a very popular shoppe.
See you all in the Fall.
